Race Day Details
The Jamestown Racing Club programs a six event race card with the first event usually scheduled to start at about 1:00 pm. If visitors are travelling from Adelaide they will need to allow about three (3) hours travelling time. Gate entry is $10/head, concessions are available to card holders.
Local Weather & Track Update
The October race meeting usually benefits from good winter rain resulting in a good cover of grass. It may not be Flemington but the racing surface at Jamestown can be generous for horses looking for good going. September rains can take the “sting out of the ground”
Food/Dining/Catering
Patrons are welcome to bring pincic lunches on course but Government Liquour Licencing conditions do not allow any alcohol to be brought onto the racecourse site. Similarly, Licencing requirements do not allow any glass (bottles)on course except for, in designated marquees.
The Belalie Creek Restaurant will provide marquee dining (serving a three course meal) and bookings can be made by contacting Peter Reed on 8664 1001. Check out the Belalie Creek restaurant by visiting their web site at: www.belaliecreek.com.au
In addition there will be a sausage sizzle/hamburger stall and sandwiches and cool drinks available.
Wagering
The Club will be offering patrons a full TAB service on local, Adelaide, Flemington, Randwick and Doomben races. This will be complimented by an extensive SKY service through monitors located at key vantage points. The Flemington meeting features the Turnbull Stakes while it’s Epsom Hcp day at Randwick. A local tote will also operate on the Jamestown events.
